The Best Sustainability Events in Tampa Bay 2021

We’ve been writing about sustainability products for a few years now to help share info about cost-effective sustainable living options. We’ve set out to help others in our generation (and younger) learn more about cost-effective sustainable products to ultimately help combat global warming. Beyond the purchasing of sustainable products to help the environment for all our children, there are great events for conversation and idea-sharing.

“If the oceans and atmosphere continue to warm, sea level along the Florida coast is likely to rise one to four feet in the next century. Rising sea level submerges wetlands and dry land, erodes beaches, and exacerbates coastal flooding. Rising temperatures are likely to increase storm damages, harm coral reefs, and increase the frequency of unpleasantly hot days.”

As stated by the EPA

Fortunately, we live in Tampa Florida a young city with an average age of 34 and home to multiple amazing universities. The combination of young parents wanting the best for their children and universities is really conducive for young thinkers to come together and have global warming discussions. With all the said, the official Global Warming Foundation (TGWF) reached out to us and asked that we include their upcoming events in our list given they’re in Tampa Heights and surrounding areas. Given our mission, we wanted to help spread the word by including their events in our master list.

Overall this year there will be many more events promoting sustainability in the Tampa Bay area and our goal is to discuss them regularly. We’ve had lots of exciting conversations with readers around how to shop sustainably online and it seems to have reached a tipping point. When we first started shopping plant-based at Publix there were two doors in the freezer section dedicated to all plant-based foods. Now in mid-2021, depending on the Publix location, there is an average of six freezer doors for plant-based foods. Massive corporations like Target, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Burger King, and so many others are starting to work towards zero carbon emissions and plant-based meat alternatives.

Do your climate change research and try to attend local events in your city when you can 🙂 We’ll keep writing!

Love,

Scooch and Steve
