Top 5 Family-Friendly Places To Visit in Tampa in 2021

Now with our 6-month-old son Charlie and the world moving past the pandemic, we have been going out more in Tampa. We did A LOT of research on the best family-friendly places to go and there surprisingly weren’t that many resources out there. So we decided to make our own list to help parents in the Tampa Bay area. Having been voted top 10 bloggers in Tampa now we feel an obligation to help share the latest and greatest places for parents to visit this year.

  1. Armature Works – This is such a fun place to bring kids. There are plenty of food options in the food hall-style setup inside for all dietary restrictions. In the “public market” food hall there are some amazing small businesses including:
    – Buddy Brew
    – SteelBach
    – BakenBabes
    – Empamamas
    – Cru Cellars
    – and much more

2. Sparkman Wharf – one of the largest development projects in Tampa is called Water Street. This is where Sparkman Wharfs is based and there is plenty to see. The outdoor dining area reminded us of when we visited Shoreditch in London with the shipping containers. Definitely check out Jeni’s Ice cream at Sparkman Wharf!

3. Oxford Exchange – Near the University of Tampa this gem has a restaurant, bookstore, Warby Parker, coffee shop, and a full shopping area. The food at the restaurant is amazing and has lots of great natural light. Highly recommend checking this out and relaxing in main area with a coffee.

4. Nebraska Mini Mart – right down the street from our first rental property is an absolute gem in Seminole Heights. We’ve taken Charlie (our baby) to Nebraska Mini-Mart with other couples as well and its such a good time. You can order burgers and drinks while playing bocci ball or shuffleboard. With an open area where you can lounge with great music even bring a picnic blanket to hang out on. Highly recommend taking your loved ones here during the summer!

The final destination we wanted to share with you is a NEW development being built near our 3rd property located off Westshore in South Tampa called The Westshore Marina District. This is another large development similar to Water Street downtown and they are building retail with residential condos. In the middle of the development, there is a really town square-like area that will have retail shops like Duckweed Grocery and Cru Cellars.

The builders of The Westshore Marina District are planning on having 1,300 apartment units and 159 boat slips. Our goal is to be some of the first bloggers to share this MASSIVE construction when it’s complete later this year so more on The Westshore Marina District later.

There are a lot of amazing places being built currently that are family friendly and a lot that have been in Tampa for much longer than the ones mentioned on this list, but for us these are our favorites. Let us know what you think of these options in the comment section or on Instagram!

Love,
Scooch and Steve
